I am having a problem with a particular Mac and After Effects setup that I haven’t encountered before. It’s oone of the Macs where I work (a Dual 1.8 G5) running AE 6.5 Pro. One of the other artists was saying that all their audio previews strangely. When I checked it sounds like evrything is running about 20 percent slower than it should. If you preview the the imported audio file itself, it sounds fine. But as soon as you drop it into a comp and do a RAm preview, it slows down. I can get it to sound close to the right speed by changing it’s playback spped to 80% in the timeline, but obviously that is a work around for something that shouldn’t be. I have checked the project settings versus the comp settings and things match. I have also checked that the preferences and comp settings are compatible with the encoded music settings.

Has anyone seen this before and do you know how to correct it?

Are you using QT 7+? If you are then there seems to be quite a bit of issue with the audio.
Your best bet is to revert to the version you had previous to the ver 7 upgrade.
