After Effects CC – Error: cannot close a closed file ( 3 :: 5 )
I have searched high and low for an answer to this error but to no avail. The adobe forum is buggy and won’t even let me post it there. So when I try to render out a tiff sequence, I get the error “After effects warning: could not create file ‘C:Usersetc…’ Access was denied. Then I click OK, and a second error pops up: “After Effects error: cannot close a closed file ( 3 :: 5 )”
This does not happen when I export a quicktime or avi, just image sequences. I have tried reinstalling after effects, cleaning out the case/cleaning the database. I have installed all the latest updates. The only way to get around this, is to export the Tiffs to an external hard drive. I have performed a checkdisk to check for any problems with my laptop’s hard drive it didn’t detect anything.
I am the only user on the laptop, and have file permissions for the places I save the Tiffs. It happens on any project, not just one specific one. It happens on projects where I don’t have any source footage or video, just text/shapes.
If anyone can help me get to the bottom of this I would be so, so grateful!
Thank you
