  Ps 3D Text losing effect in Ae CC?

  One of my users reports 3D text created in Ps CC is not carrying over into Ae CC.

  She tells me that in CS 5.5, 3D text imported into Ae with a control layer, which you manipulated to maintain the 3D effect. She tells me in CC she is not seeing this workflow.

  We’re brand new to CC. Is there a workflow/settings/preferences change we are missing here?

  The card in our systems is an nVidia 5000K. Systems are Dell T7600’s, 32GB RAM.

  Looks like I’ll fire up my (very old) copy of Lighwave 3D.

  The nVidia 5000K is a good card for AE’s Ray-tracing. You can extrude Text and Shape Layers in AE. When the comp’s renderer is set to Ray-tracing, working in Draft or Fast Draft preview is really fast. I suggest you give it a try.
