    Hi,

We have been archived our masters on XDcam disks the last several years.
Is this safe for backup for the future or should we go for LTO or other solutions? What do you recommend?

I have been using LTO for a few years, and I’m quite happy with it. The LTO format has very broad support outside our industry, which is a big plus for me.

As with all backups and archives, I think it’s important to keep multiple copies of everything.

I’ve been using BRU from the Tolis Group, but Cache-A is another popular option.

You can also start exploring Storage DNA Evolution , which is build on open LTFS..

If someday any software stops their support you will not be in problem.
