Mocha to AE Workflow Error
I am having an issue when it comes to the transfer of the tracking data to AE
For this particular project I have done several tracks previously with PNG files
and have successfully transferred the info to AE where I of course pasted the
data to a null and parented a text comp to this Null. The text’s motion looks
great so I have done this correctly before.That being said, I changed something and this is no longer working in my favor
My problem is somewhere in the transfer of data from Mocha to AE CC.
The track in Mocha looks to work fine as I created an X spline layer and
it follows the footage exactly how I want. I then go to export tracking data
and copy to clipboard. Clicking back into AE I then go to a null object
containing no info select this and paste. When I parent the text comp to
this and push play it does not even follow the direction of how
the track should move.In the video clip I am tilting down so the majority of movement should be
from the y plane. In AE after linking the text comp it moves as if I’m doing
a slide toward the object (slider/zoom movement) which was
a previous shot for this same project.It acts as if the clipboard was never emptied and the tracking data that
I am now trying to transfer is not even being copied.Has anyone ran into this problem before or have a magical answer?

and have successfully transferred the info to AE where I of course pasted the data to a null and parented a text comp to this Null”You only paste mocha tracking data onto a Null in AE if you are exporting transform tracking data. When exporting Corner Pin tracking data, you will of course paste the tracking data onto either a full-frame Solid (for matting) or a video layer (an insert without a matte).
When you transfer the data to the Null in AE, did you (1) delete all the Anchor Point keyframes (2) reset the Anchor Point value to [0,0]? The second step while not absolutely necessary, ensures that the Null follows your tracking data in absolute terms rather than relative. This makes it much easier to confirm that the tracking data is accurate BEFORE you parent any layer to the Null.
Once you can confirm that the Null is accurate, this will help you to troubleshoot issues with the child layer.
For now, ensure that you’ve applied the two steps above and check that there are no Transform KFs on the Text Comp/Layer – then repost.

It was honestly a very careless mistake that I had been overlooking for a couple of hours now.
I had mistakenly changed the tracking data format.Thank you Sir!
