I have a character walking. Currently, I’m using two keyframes and the pingpong loop expression to send her up and down. I’d like to add a little variance to it so it doesn’t look so mechanical. I’ve tried just wiggling the y value, but the problem is that it sometimes goes down when it should be going back up. I’ve had the idea to precompose the layer with the pingpong expression in it and then wiggling the y value slightly of the composition, but I feel there has to be a better way.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Maybe you can add a extra NULL and wiggle it´s position (slider or keyframes for the wiggle-expression – so you have controll)
an parrent it to a NULL for the main position.

    Null-01 – Master Position
Null-01.1 – child of 01 / wiggle expression or some sord of random movment
Charackter/Image Layer – child of 01.1 / Image oder Pupet-Pin or whatever have you.

    did this help?
    greetings
