  • Morph an EPS Logo in text -How to suggestions

Posted by Matt Stoltz on October 17, 2013 at 8:07 pm

    Hi everyone

I am trying to figure out a way to take a corp logo and morph from it into simple text. Maybe it doesnt need to morph but some cool way to transition from logo to text so it looks like it morphs

Just FYI -I have BCC 8 and Final Effects 6 for AE –

    Any suggestions would help

    Thanks

    Matt

Without an example to look at.

Use displacement maps to give the illusion of morphing from one to the other.

If you have cs6 or CC, there’s a plugin called warpomatic that might help.

    Hey Matt and Jason

Here is the conclusion I came up with for this “morph” I think I ended up using the Warpomatic filter. Although the client is not sure they like it -Or “its” not quite there yet they said.

    Any other suggestions guys

the morph here isn’t something I would have attempted to do personally. I think you would have been better off just doing a simple y rotation, where the first logo transitions to the second when both are about 90 degrees, or invisible to the viewer, and then it resolves. I would add more detail to the displacement. As well as adding a blur at the apex of the transition to hide it better.

I guess what I should have asked is your client tied to the text morphing? If not, it would seem more aesthetically pleasing as well as make more sense to do an easier/cleaner transition. Just my two cents, but I’m curious how your final result comes out now.

    Hey Jason and Matt

Totally agree with your text sample transition you posted –I actually sent them a second one like the example you showed me -although yeah I think they are stuck on it.

Hey Matt when you say add some blur and more detail to the displacement -well I didn’t use a displacement map on this –but instead used the Warpomatic plugin in AE 6 and I don’t think you can add more detail or blur –UNLESS Im missing something you are trying to explain

yeah Jason at least Im trying to give them what you want –I didn’t think what I gave them was thaaaaatt bad haha -but who knows Im not sure what they even know what they want
