Animating many images on a grid
Hi…I think this is an easy one but I can’t remember how to do this:
I need to show a group of maybe 60 images on a grid, then move all of them to morph into a grid of only 4 images (i.e. all images move to those 4 positions (and zoom up in size), and only 4 images remain, the others fade out.
Does that make sense? Any tips would be greatly appreciated – thank you!

Hi David, the comp will be 1080p HD, and the images are 16×9….the number of pictures I start out with can be determined by me (it just needs to be a large looking group of images), so I can make the total number to start with divisable by 4 if that helps.

If you can have the images flip over and form the final 4, then Card Dance is what you can use.

PS – quick question on Card Dance – I would create a large still montage w all my images on one layer, and then flip them on a grid with Card dance – how would I be able to get to reveal the 4 remaining ones, though? Hope this is not an obvious one, just trying to get my head around how to best build it. Thanks.

For a simple transition you can use Card Wipe, create a precomp with your initial images and one with the final 4. Apply Card Wipe to the first and assign as back layer the second.
