I never responded to this thread once the issue was dealt with and so I am doing it now.

The EMP was the issue (although I got 2 more gig of RAM on my PC after thinking that was the problem). I uninstalled the EMP and have been able to run AE and Avid at the same time. I know a lot of people say don’t do this but it helps me to be able to hot switch from one to the other.

As far as the exception errors. That appears to be an issue with the available streams within Avid. The AE material needs to be rendered before I can play it in the timeline. Still annoying but I can deal with it.

    Thanks Andrew for your help.
