Looking into using a stabilizer with my HC-990 for Steadicam-type work. If you’ve done this, I have a few questions:

Is the flip-out-to-the-side LCD viewer a no-go for stabilizer work – in other words, will it keep the stablizer from ever balancing properly? Based on some work with an inexpensive unit, this is my suspicion.

Any recommendations for stabilizers? The Glidecam HD1000 and 2000 seem good, and there are tons of 2000’s available used, but the HC-990 is pretty light.

    Thanks,

    Myles

For us, the EVA1 display can be placed anywhere for balancing.
Not sure about the cameras you have.
Can they not be removed or replaced?

Got a Crane 2, got the balance set up no problem. Thanks!
