Autofocus does not work after 2.1 firmware update
Hello GH5 users. I just got my GH5 after having used the GH4 for years. I updated the firmware for my camera to the latest 2.1 and my lumix lenses 12-35 and 35-100 to 1.3….Now the autofocus does not work at all…it worked fine until I updated the firmware. Thoughts?

I haven’t had any problems, it works just as badly as it did before 2.0, however, I haven’t heard of lens firmware update 1.3 so I still have 1.0. Maybe that’s where the problem lies. Also, there is a version 2.1 now. Maybe give that a shot.

I’m facing the same problem. Have you been able to fix it and if so how?
I’m using an Olympus M. Zuiko 7-14 mm along with it.
Any help would be highly appriciated -

I contacted Panasonic and they said to send to them for repair or return to Best Buy. I returned and ordered another GH5. I would suggest at this point to install firmware 2.0 not 2.1 until more people update to 2.1 and any bugs are worked out.

Thanks for your answer. I found out my problem in the meanwhile as well which was a stupid one:
While running the firmware at the same time I moved accidently the manual focus lock of the Olympus lens (I was a Canon guy before anddidn’t even know that the lens has a manual focus lock).
So of course I didn’t had Autofocus anymore.
Just unlocking the manual focus ring and now everything works like a charme.
I hope I can help with my stupidity some other users facing the same problem ????

FYI, since Panasonic hasn’t put out any notices whatsoever, there is a v. 2.2 out now. Whether it improves AF I couldn’t tell ya.
