    Hello Group,

I have a film record / film menu shutter question. Is it possible to show the shutter value (value for lack of a better word) in fractions while using the camera in film record?

I am able to go into Film Main Menu 2 and select the VF Display and change the Synchro Scan Disp. from deg. to sec. which will let me show 180deg shutter as 1/48 by setting that value using synchro scan on the side of the camera. However, when changing shutter angle with the toggle switch on front of camera, every other angle goes back to deg.

    Any feedback would be wonderful…

    Arg….

    I failed to mention/ask this:

I am able to have fractions in film record / film menu, however, both the Varicam manual and the Goodmans guide makes me think that:

    1/100 = 180.0
    1/120 = 172.8
    1/250 = 144.0
    1/500 = 120.0
    1/1000 = 90.0
    and
    1/2000 = 45.0

    While I always thought:
    1/48 = 180.0

After testing this by setting the camera to 172.8 and having my crossover point on my waveform monitor at 50ish. I captured and overlayed the 1/120 over the 172.8

The crossover point at 1/120 went to 33ish.

So I guess my main question is is:

What is the correct conversion from deg. to fractions and can it be displayed in the film menu?

Which I am sure it will lead to many more questions.

    Thanks again,

    Cartwright

You can try the following link for Shutter Angle to Shutter Speed conversion:

    Hope the above article helps.
