Planting static animated figure in moving shot
Hello all,
I’m new to After Effects and am attempting to add an animated figure to a video I shot. The shot is of a beach and I put the figure on a rock.
The video pans left to the boardwalk and I want the figure to stay put on the rock and therefor disappear from the shot.
What’s happening at the moment is that the animated figure layer is moving with the video layer. I’ve uploaded the clip I’m struggling with.https://reels.creativecow.net/film/animated-test

My first comment is that the video is very soft, and there is little detail in it. You’re going to have to track something in the video. I hope you have a higher resolution version of the video – otherwise it’s going to be tough, if not impossible. The camera pan ultimately goes away from the rock, so I assume you’re ok with the person going off screen as well (as it would if the person were really in the scene).
