  Best Camera to use

  I have been giving some consideration to purchasing a Panasonic HDX-900. Has anyone ran into issues with corporate or broadcast clients not wanting to shoot with this camera because it was NOT a Sony, not a CineAlta or not a VariCam? Or are you finding most clients are trusting you to be the expert and deliver them their HD products however you deem best?

  Budget, post and distribution are the questions you need to ask your clients before they are willing to commit to any HD flavor.

  That all said one market may be more HDCAM entrenched whereas another might be dvcpro HD and yet another none of the above.

  So I recommend buying every single camera and HD flavor just so you are covered for that one day job where a clients needs some unknown format or camera.

  Just kidding do the market research in your specific “backyard” first before committing to any brand, model or format.

  I read that OCC,the most watched program on Discovery is now shot with HDX900,before with Varicam.
  So I guess the HDX 900 is considered DVCpro HD,and so ok for Discovery at least.

  Sometimes it might be down to the production company,and whether they would have to rent in a player for the HDX 900.If they are set up for HDCAM.
