  Big lag before rendering

  So with CC things seem to render faster once they get started, but it’s no longer immediate for me. What I mean is this:

  :07 comp, graphics, shape layers, camera move all over a still with some CCR on that, 1920×1080. I hit render and the button goes grey and the machine starts working but no progress bar. About 4 minutes go by and ZIP! the comp renders in about :05.

  Is this normal? All this on a brand new maxed out Retina MBP rendering to a 4TB G-Raid via Thunderbolt.

  Yeah that’s all good. This seems to only be happening on a CS5 converted project now that I look further at it. The project has been resaved/converted to CC and any instances of missing plugins were removed or added.

  I’ve made some new identical projects from scratch and they seem to render just fine. So I’m good.
