  raw flow…

  Hi,

  I really need some bare bones workflow information…

  i’m going to be shooting with the varicam working as a 2nd ac for the first time – always been assisting in the post area 🙂 – and need to know about the workflow as much as possiable….

  what the director and dp want:

  record to the tape in camera, a seperate deck, a deck recording the down convered HD footage (probably downconverted to DV) AND have a stream going into a FCP system on set

  I know it in theory but everybody knows theory is bunk when you go on set…i’d like to read as much as possiable about this type of flow…any sugestions?

  One major question would be can FCP recieve a down convered varicam stream and be programed to capture without someone queing it?

  Another one is, where should the “master timecode” come from?

  Mainly where is a good source of info for this workflow?

  Any feedback at all would be a HUGE help. Thanks…
