  • Final Cut Pro, Blackmagic and Panasonic HD1700 deck not happy together.

    Hi All

Here’s my setup: Dual G5 2.3 Ghz. 4 gig Ram. Blackmagic Dual Link HD card (running in 4:2:2 mode) and Panasonic HD 1700 deck.
RS 422 control from decklink to deck, FCP 5.0.4, OS 10.4.5, all the latest updates.

    My sequence is 720 24fps, my video playback is set to Blackmagic HDTV 720P 59.94Hz – 8 bit (1280 X 720)

After doing a couple of test inserts on the deck, and opening and closing the edit to tape window a few times, the edit to tape window will change to only allow assemble edits. The only solution seems to be to turn the deck on and off. If I have the edit to tape window open and toggle the deck between local and remote, FCP will poll the deck and change it to assemble only.

My deck control is set to Blackmagic 720P HDTV 59.94, the only thing I have changed is the audio setup from 4 to 8 channels. (But setting it back to 4 channels doesn’t help either)

    My sequence is 720 24fps, my video playback is set to Blackmagic HDTV 720P 59.94Hz – 8 bit (1280 X 720)

    Any thoughts?
