Ken Stone’s workflow talks about using Firewire 400 for digitizing. I have a Firewire 800 drive for this job, can I use the 800 cable or do I need to stick with the 400? Thanks in advance.

800 works great… preferred in my opinion.

For DVCPro HD I only recommend FW 800 or above. I run both a G-RAID and a LaCie BDE with FW 800 and get great performance and real-tme capabilities when editing. Though I use a Fibre Channel array for the bulk of my HD work.
