    Steve,
    Thank you for the response.

Fortunately, I came from a parallel 35mm and video background so I have not made the mistake of black balancing without irising down. An easy mistake I can understand.

The lense I am using is the Canon HJ11 4.7 Cinestyle.

The problem cropped up when I I accidentally hit the ECU black balance switch while reaching for the shutter switch.

After going through the 1st 2 stages of the black balance it then began sequentially cycling through red, green and blue. This cycle could only be stopped by removing power to the camera.

After powering back up I had the -10 black level. I then re-read my setup card which brought back the color spectrum I was using but I still had the -10 blacks.

The solution was to read the internal FACTORY setup, which reset the blacks, then read my card and then re-black balance (which now works correctly).

I never experienced this effect on the “F” so guess there are minor differences in the logic boards.

    Thanks again,
    Marion
