  shoot for final delivery in portrait mode

  Hi all,
  I’m shooting a bunch of video clips that need to be delivered in portrait mode (480W x 800H). These are “stand up” clips of a narrator in front of a background. I’m planning to use the GH2 and FCP7 for editing. Any tips on how to shoot it/edit it/compress it so that I can get 400×800 edited clips at the end of the process?

  Any input would be appreciated – thanks!

  Delivery as what- web clips or on a phone? I’d shoot normally and maybe tape some lines onto a monitor to approximate a portrait extraction area.

  Thanks for your reply! It’s for delivery on a phone. I’ll go ahead and put lines on the monitor after I do a couple test shots.

  Might want to consider this. We shoot head-to-toe green screen with an adapter like this, but it would save you some resolution for a vertically oriented shot.
