    Shooting GH4 at 4K, will end up with 1080p. Is there an optimum time to make the change (on ingest? wait until deciding if need to reframe? at output?) , and is there a preferable method to the conversion (simply drag onto a 1080p timeline? using something like Compressor?). And is there a preferred way to do a blowup/reframe? Editing on both FCP 7 and Premiere Pro 6. Thanks.

    Really depends on your hardware. FCPX rocks at this on decent hardware. But older versions of FCP7/Premiere Pro you’d likely need to batch transcode to 1080p before ingesting. You could use Compressor or the QuickTime Player itself to do this. But be ready for lots of waiting…
