Has anyone found a way of doing this? I noticed online that there is an android app that allows you to view the output of a canon dslr by running a cable from the HDMI output of the camera to the mini usb port of an Nexus 7, etc.

After having reviewed 720P field monitors in the $1K to $3k cost range it occurred to me that this method (or perhaps the wifi capability of the camera) could be used to take advantage of the incredible 2600×1600 screen on a samsung 8.4″ tablet ($275). But after buying one and trying – I can’t get it to work.

Does anyone know of a work-around to use a tablet as a field monitor with this camera?
