  Panasonic HDC-TM700: can’t log and transfer into FCE4

  I just purchased my Panasonic HDC-TM700 and cannot import my video into FCE4. I know that FCE will not recognize video in 60p, but as far as I can tell I am recording in 1080i.
  When I attempt to log and transfer, an “error” message appears (along with the red “!”) and FCE will crash. I am a very new user and am at my wits end. ANY HELP would be appreciated!!!

  Are you sure FCE supports your camera- it has a very narrow list of supported codecs and frame rates. Anything not specifically listed in the tech specs of FCE is likely to be FCP-only support: https://www.apple.com/finalcutexpress/specs.html

  Meaning you need to either purchase Final Cut Pro or convert the footage elsewhere into something FCE does support.
