    hey guys!
i’ was given a quick task today that seems simple, its animating this graphic element mimicking water invading the whole composition (i’ve included the animatic for it below), does anyone know of a way to make this without having to labouriously animate a mask path on a solid? Thats the only way i can think of doing this, and it would be kind of a pain 🙁

    Here’s what i’m talking about: https://184.172.153.221/~estud579/temp/water_animation.mov

You could use some Ink or Water Splash footage and use that as a luma matte to reveal your image/layers below.

Creating Ink/Water transition can also be faked pretty easily using fractal noise(or a particle system), especially if the transition is fairly quick.
