DVX100A Audio Recording Issues
I just started using my camera on a shoot for a punk band and when I went to capture with a smaller miniDV to save the mechanism of the DVX, I have audio drops at random spots. Sounds like a noise spike. Less than a year old with the 4 year Mack Service. I used the Panasonic Master DV tapes as well. Should I use a cleaning cassette? I am going to try capturing with the DVX, though I think its in the tape. So, my question is…is it the camera, the tape, or the internal mic? Should I take it to service? I still need to do more tests, but I’m at work right now stressing out. I want to get wireless mics and cannot have the sound cutting out like that! Please any suggestions would greatly help. Thanks

Definitely- a cleaning tape will help. You may even get back all of the missing audio.

I know tape lubrication is an issue…if I used this Pan AMQ tape in my JVC that has seen all sorts of tapes and then pop into my DVX, will there be an issue. I want to keep my DVX pristine…

Mixing tape types is a bad thing in general.
