I am shooting a movie for someone using my camera, twice when we have been shooting exteriors on busy streets, the reds began to streak. For instance, a car would drive by and its break-lights would remain in the frame a second or two after the car had was gone. On a different occasion, this happened and ALL reds in the frame: a waving flag, a carriage going by, a smoker’s cigarette, were streaking like this. It only happened in one shot, each time, separate days, and i don’t remember seeing it in the LCD as it was being recorded, only on playback.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Also, is it possible that the lattitude on my camera is diminishing? It might just all be in my head b/c I’ve been shooting with the DVX100A too, and that has better lattitude. But I’m just wondering if that happens without service. How often is it recommended a person bring their camera in for servicing?

All help is very appreciated! Thanks in advance,
    Jack

Could be dirty heads- try running a head cleaner. Or increase your shutter speed.
