    Hi there.
I put an anamorphic adaptor on my camera but I really don’t feel like measuring distances or using several charts before I can focus. I would like a monitor instead to focus with, but I looked at a number of portable monitors and most seem to be as expensive as the camera itself. Maybe this sounds naive, but I know my my 15″ powerbook (g4 1.5 Gigahrz) is capable of showing very sharp images. Isn’t there a program that turns a powerbook into a videomonitor. I tried to use webcamprograms, or just imovie, but then the image is very much low resolution and hardly useful as a videomonitor. Is anybody aware of useful software?
    Thanks,
    Hanselblat

DV Rack by Serious Magic. I saw this in a supply catalog that I receive. It lists for $295 in Markertek. It looks really good on paper and I am looking at checking it out myself. If you get it, post back on here and let me know how it is and I will do the same. Here is what it claims:
    pro field monitor
    DV recorder
    video analyzer
    audio spectrum analyzer
    DV grabber
    Waveform & Vectorscope
    SureShot module
    Timer/clock Stopwatch

    Hi there,
thanks for your reply. I have looked at Serious Magic’s website, but it doesn’t seem to run on Apple, so there I have a problem. There must be some other solution; it can’t be too difficult to find a webcamprogram with high resolution?

Sorry Noah, I hadn’t seen your post yet. Same problem here.
