    Hi,
I’ve been asked to shoot and edit a wedding using 2 cameras (a regular SONY PD100 (29.97) and a 1st genration DVX. The final output will be NTSC DVD.

I would like to shoot the wedding ceremony in “classy” filmy 24p and the “girls gone wild” reception debauchery in 29.97. Also since I myself am a DVX virgin, I’ll be using the PD100 as a back-up.

My questions: Is it possible to mix the two formats? What potential problems will i encounter during the edit? What setting should I be using on the cameras and in FCP?

Any other tips/advice would be greatly appreciated too.

    Rich

No problems- 24p can be edited with its pulldown intact thus becoming 29.97. Visually it would look quite different from the standard 60i footage, frame count and edit wise it would act identically.
