    i use this petrol case

    https://www.dvshop.ca/camera/petrolbags.html

    The second one down.

it is a fanatastic case because it fits the camera perfectly. Fits in carry on, and it soft but rigid and tough enough for travelling.

    well worth the investment.

    David:

Could you tell me which one? The second one down looks as though it’s for the Sony only. Do you mean the PCUB-1?

    thanks.

    Yes,

The U-Bag PCUB-1. This is the one I use for the DVX-100A.

    Thanks,
    David

How does the weight feel David? It lists at 7 lbs. plus which sounds a little heavy for travel.
Do I need to start doing bench presses to prepare?

    Thanks.

The weight is because this is a hardwall bag. It’s got a portabrace look but it is made better. I always carry it on. I like having the rugged bag because when you are travelling stuff is always going in and out of cars, vans, airplanes (carry on only) and I wanted something substantial to protect my investment.

I am sure if you check in your area there is a dealer that carries them and you can check it out before you buy.

Thanks for all the help David. It now comes down to the Petrol bag you’re recommending or a Kata MC-61.
I’m leaning towards the Petrol bag based on your recommendation, but the other one also looks very good.
It appears to be a win-win re either bag. B and H is also offering the Petrol plus their LCD monitor for what appears to be a good deal.

If you have any knowledge of and thoughts about the Kata please let me know; otherwise just thanks again for taking the time.
