  Image Dissolve when recording

  I have recently been shooting on the DVX-100, not A, and found that when I hit record the last image on the tape is dissolved with what I am currently recording for 3-5 seconds and does appear on the tape. I’ve gone through all settings when the camera is in VCR mode as well as camera mode and still can not fugure out how to get back to instant record. Also hit the rec check button right next to the eject tape button and that is not the problem either. Any idea of what mode is causing the image dissolve?

  Sounds like the heads are dirty- might be time for a servicing.
