Is it possible to set my dvx100 up so it will auto zero up the timecode when a new tape is loaded?

Also how do I reset the timecode to zero? (I lost my manual)

    Tony,

To reset the TC, you will have to go into the menu settings. I think it is in the camera menu settings. Once you ahve found it you can set it all to zero.

it is nice to use the leading hour for each new tape. IE. Tape 001 1hour timecode, tape 002 2 hour timecode, and so on. This can simplyfy things in post, knowing 2 hours code are tape two or 26 or 52 etc. When there is a lot of material to handle in large projects this is much preffered over every tape haveing the same start time code.

You will have to reset to the zero code for each new tape.

thanks, I will try 001 1hour timecode, tape 002 2 hour timecode setup, usally I shoot and end up with at most 3 tapes, the timecode I never set and I do have all funny times on my timeline and it’s not very efficient.

If you wanted your timecode to start at 0:00:00:00 every time you load a new tape, set the timecode mode to regen, not preset. And set it to rec run, not free run.

If you want different timecode for every tape, set it to preset, not regen. Then each time you change a tape, go into the timecode preset menu and set the preset to 01:00:00:00 or 02:00:00:00 or whatever you want to start the tape at.
