I tried using the search for this as I’m sure it has been explained in detail, howevere, COW has lost her way when trying to search…

That said, What is a great matte box setup for the DVX100A w/o the anamorphic lens
    ?

Where would I get a good price on it??

    Thanks for your time-

What’s the budget- good and cheap are not easy to find with a matte box.

i got the formatt FM500. it is solid metal with a huge frenchflag and looks great. in the easy version (simply a 72mm adapter) you need to load the filters from the bottom, but that is the only “down”. for that price i have no problem loading from down. i have a UV filter between the lens and the mattebox and am able to even load the frontfilter from top (or a gradfilter).
the FM500 goes for around 200 i think.

I’ve heard good things about the FM500. I’ve been using the cinetatics matte box. The only drawback is the filter placement system.
