    Hey Everyone,

I wanted to find out if anyone knows if you can shoot on a AG-HVX-200a and live capture straight into Final Cut Pro using a Macbook Pro. The Macbook I’m using has a 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 with the memory being 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. Any advice would be appreciated,

You can via Firewire. I would also record to P2 cards if possible. If something happens during the capture, you will lose everything.

I would suggest recording to a KiPro. HVX 200 Component out.

    Hey Steve,

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. The KiPro definitely seems like something to keep in mind after I gather some extra spending money. Until then, is there a way to record using the P2 cards as the laptop as a backup? A couple upcoming potential jobs may last past 5 hours and I’d want to make sure that I’d have enough storage space to shoot in HD without having to unload the cards part way through them.
