  3D file types

  Good morning,
  Does anyone know what the compatible 3D file types are that you can import into AE? I have Sketchup, but I receive an error when I try to import a Sketchup file.

  After Effects: AEGP Plugin AAP: error during parsing (5027 :: 12)

  Should I be able to import a Sketchup file? Do I need to convert the file? Do I need to use a specific 3d software?

  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

  You cannot import any 3D objects into AE without the Zaxwerks Invigorator plugin. You can import some scene files from Maya, but that would be cameras and nulls only, if I recall.

  AE is designed to import images that have been rendered from 3D apps. Anything else is basically a special case.
