  HVX200 and Long Shot; elements in distance phase in and out of focus

  Hi All,

  Something I’ve noticed a number of times now:

  Low light situation, subject is close and in focus, elements in background, usually those that are “hotter” than the rest, go in-and-out of focus continually.

  Are others experiencing this phenomenon and more importantly, why is this happening and what if anything can I do to stop it.

  So are you using Auto Focus? This could be the camera’s sensors getting a little confused at what the intended subject is. How close is the intended subject? If it is very close to the camera then it may be too close in a way and could require manual focus, otherwise the camera itself will continuously switch between focal points.

  Hello Matthew,

  Thanks for the response. Your question is a good one however I always leave my focus on manual.
  I think the only way to truly illustrate my situation is to share the video clip so you or whoever can see for themselves.
  I may post a clip and then post that link here.
  However in the meantime if you have any other thoughts or suggestions please feel free to get back to me.
