  Panasonic HPX250 or AC160A

  Hi guys,

  hoping to get a little advice from the pros 🙂

  I’m looking at getting a new camera ether a HPX250 or a AC160A

  I know the features are similar, and I will be recording to a Atomos Samurai.

  The problem im facing is I do a lot of shoots of live music (for web) and im not sure if I the benefit of genlock will outway the price of going P2.

  Any advice welcome, I have hired the 250 before and have also worked with Sony ex1’s but I am upgrading from a little hmc40.

  HPX250 is only a few hundred dollars more than the original AC160. $300 for the Upgrade suite with AC160A features. Go with the 250. AVC-Intra codec is way better than AVCHD.

  HPX250 has a 5 year warranty here in the UK so it was a no brainer.

  Yep, I just saw that, and it has one the day (and I got a good price from our local guys)

  Well I got my new Camera, and it is 100x better them my hmc40 as it should be :),

  Funny thing is I have to redesign my lighting, or use the cheaper camera for the rest of the year on set because the color reproduction is so much better, it makes everything look different 🙂
