  .mxf / Audio import into After Effects CS5

  We are testing a Panasonic AG-HPX250 and recording onto a P2 card. Using the Panasonic P2 Viewer tool – we are able to transfer the relevant files locally (automatically creates a “contents” main dir, with “audio” & “video” sub-dirs). All files are in .mxf format.

  The video imports into AE without a problem. However, AE does not recognise the audio within the .mxf – how do we best import the audio into AE?

  Premiere Pro can recognize it if you use the Media Browser. There you can send a selected clip from the timeline to an After Effects composition.

  I wonder if there’s a simpler way to do this directly in After Effects.
