  Importing DVCPRO 1080i24p to Final Cut Pro 7

  Hi there,

  I have shot a lot of footage with the HVX at 1080i24p but did not realize that FCP is unable to import those settings. FCP has been importing the footage at 1080i30p and it has created a lot of interlacing and the footage looks pretty awful. Does anyone have any ideas for me to save this footage? The raw files are no longer on the P2 card because I have been working on this project for months. When I convert to ProRes 422 24p is looks terrible and jerky. I’m hoping that there might be some trick to help me out because it was originally shot in 1080i24p but transferred incorrectly into final cut. Thank you for your time, and any ideas you could give me would be greatly appreciated!!

  You did back up the P2 cards?

  There is only one way to ingest P2 into FCP 7. Log and Transfer. Converting to Pro Res adds no benefit.
