  • Quicktime Codec in AE. It Doesn’t work.

hi, I was completing Mr. Hamads’ nebula tutorial, which was great, finished it and the instructions were to render it using the quicktime codec. When I did this it failed saying the codec was not resident on the system. The codec is on the list of codecs but it’s apparently not been loaded. When I loaded 6.5 pro was the codec part of the 6.5 pro software or do I have to get it from somewhere else? I’ve never used quicktime before so I don’t know.

    Thanks for any help.

There are many Quicktime codecs — which one did he mention?

At any rate, it wouldn’t come with AE, it would come with Quicktime. If you don’t have the latest Quicktime, go to Apple’s site and install version 6.5 or so. I’d avoid 7 for now, since it seems to create some issues.
