HVX Log and Transfer Problem
Greetings.
I’m having a problem with the Panasonic Log and Transfer process. Can’t tell if it’s a setting on the camera that precludes me from transferring footage to my MAC and PC or if the Log and Transfer system is broken or malfunctioned. Any suggestions how to diagnose the problem? Thank You!

Log and transfer is FCP specific. Can you please tell us exactly what you are trying to do?

I’ve had the camera for 2 years and have always been able to transfer the footage with firewire (via 1394 connection).
When I tried to do so this week it failed to show any connection on FCP. My diagnosis is that the firewire connection has malfunctioned. I can transfer the footage that is on the P2 card but can only do so via the USB connection. However I haven’t been able to transfer taped footage.

It does sound like your fw port may have gone the way of the dodo bird.
You might need to send it in for service.
When you say taped footage, you mean dv footage?
Does the fw port on your computer work by testing another fw device?
Have you updated anything?
