    Hi,

I filmed with the HPX 171 in 1080/50i and 720/50p mode. Now I editing in AVID MC 3.xx in a 1080/50i timeline. How can I import the 720/50p P2 Material in this timeline to get a 2x slomo?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Charles

First off, posting in the proper forum would help. This is FCP, you want Avid:

Second, you will want to get MXFX from Raylight. That does what you want.

    Hi Shane,

thanks for answering. I guess I am in the Panasonic P2 Forum. Am I wrong?
Shane, I tried the Demo Version of MXFX from Raylight. First of all I got the message that my files are not MXF files. Second I am not sure whether it works in this way. I got the (first) impression it will only add/remove pull downs. I wrote an email to Raylight – but no answer. Did you try it with MXFX? Or do you have a contact at Raylight?

    Thanks a lot Shane

WHoa? What? Where am I? Sheesh, I am on too many forums. PARDON me. Ahem. do go on…

I haven’t tried it yet, as all my P2 editing has been done with FCP, and it has a built in tool to do the slow motion. But I will try it as soon as I can.

I’ll contact the Raylight man and point him to this post. He’ll no doubt respond.

    Hi,
I tried again to get in contact with Raylight via email. But no response. Does anyone have an idea how to contact them. I am in France.

Is there no way to change the speed of MXF files without dropping frames or interpolation? 60p or 50p files into a 25p AVID timeline as slomos.

    Thanks a lot

I’ve e-mailed twice pointing to this thread. They must be very busy.

    Sorry.
