I just borrowed a Panasonic HVX and when I look into the viewfinder there is a burn mark. Looks like a small smokey burn in the center of the viewfinder. Does anyone know what causes this or is there a fix?

    Thanks

Sounds like the viewfinder was pointed toward the sun for a period of time.

Think of it as a magnifying glass. All viewfinders have a warning.

    Thanks for the response!!!

I’m guessing it wouldn’t be covered by warranty. Is it possible to replace the viewfinder? Or to repair it?

They do make a eye cover that closes when you eye is not pressed against the viewfinder. Its ok, but saves you $%# when you have a sony 10k color vf.
