Recording problem
Posted by Graham Osborne on May 9, 2009 at 2:11 pmThe viewfinder and LCD are totally black when I turn on the CAMERA mode on my HVX200P. The previous footage is fine and can be played back. I fear I have accidentally changed a setting but have been unable to locate the problem. Wondering if anyone might have a solution. Thanks a lot.

May 9, 2009 at 4:31 pmI don’t know that camera, but on our HPX500 there’s a SAFE switch that will do what you describe when turned on. I freaked the first time that happened. Look for something like that on your camera and turn it off. It’s supposed to be a power saving function.

May 26, 2009 at 9:30 pmThanks.
Sorry it took a while. I played around with the Power Save as you suggested, took a while to find it, and suddenly my picture came back. I too had been completely freaking out. Thanks again for your help.

May 26, 2009 at 9:33 pmHey, thanks, sorry I took a while. I bought the camera in NYC but now I’m living in Australia so getting it serviced could have been difficult. Someone else suggested I play around with the Power Save option and it worked, amazingly enough. Thanks for your help, and best.
