  P2 log and transfer help

  I hooked up my camera using FireWire and it shows up on the desktop. I then copy the files to another folder. But then when I go into FCP, it says that there is nothing connected thru FireWire. Then I go into the Log and Transfer window and it shows nothing is connected and the eject button at the top is greyed out. I then go to add new folder and click on the folder on the hard drive that I copied and hit Open on that folder that contains the TXT file and the CONTENTS folder and hit open and get nothing imported.
  I did get files earlier this morning in the Log and Transfer mode but only when the camera was turned on and connected. When I disconnect the camera, I am not able to add a new folder in Log and Transfer..
