  • Logging problems with 1080p24pA footage

I shot 1080p24pA footage using the HVX200 for editing on FCP 6 (version 6.0.5). Brought the clips into the Log and Transfer window just fine, but no image in the preview window. Tried bringing one of the Quicktime-converted clips into FCP but still can’t see image in viewer, only audio. I have read a few posts that say 1080p24pA footage can’t be used with FCP 6, but I’m praying that’s not the case. Anyone have any insight on this? And if that is the case is there a way around this?

    Thanks.

The camera’s setting is 1080i 24pA. I use it all the time, just shot over 20 hours of interviews with that setting.

In Log and Transfer’s pref you need Remove > Duplicate or Advanced Pulldown checked and then the footage is 1080p @ 23.98 fps.

What are all of your camera settings?

Thanks, Michael. It works now. Lost the DVCproHD codec in a OS reinstall, now have it back where it needs to be with the Advanced Pulldown box checked in the Log and Transfer Window. Thanks again for your help. You saved me alot of agony.
