    trying to get the right settings for recording to harddisk
    setup: MXO2, FCP 6.02,HPX171e, Macbook pro, G-raid
    Tried the easy setup in FCP with the matrox settings prores 422, camera is hooked up with SDI, result is distorted picture?
    any suggestions, try to capture in the highest quality for keying
    thx

    I don’t think you can get ProREs on a laptop yet. Because the encoding to ProRes isn’t done on the MXO2, but rather via the computer. And the current batch of MacBook Pros aren’t fast enough to handle the encode. At least in my experience…and according to what Matrox says. I have only been able to capture ProRes in a max of 2 min chunks, before it drops frames. And I am going to a G-Raid.

    But how is your picture distorted? Did you make sure you chose ANAMORPHIC? the CCDs of that camera are anamorphic.

    I might have to test this myself, as I have the HPX-170.
