  • HPX 500 – Getting 2 recording off 1 master?

    Hello all,

I am not sure if this can be done or not but figured I would ask. I have a 2 camera shoot tomorrow and I am the only one there, YAY!!!

I am wandering if I can get both cameras to record at the same time by only activating one. So I press the record button on the master and the other one starts rolling. I have looked though the manual and see nothing on this…..

The next best thing is to Lock the TC together (which has already been done)

    Thanks for any help.

Remote? Not the HVX, but the HPX…… it did not come with a remote…..did not think it had the capability to be controlled by a remote….am I missing something?

[Noah Kadner] “Use the Remote Control, Luke.

The HPX-500 does not have a remote control like the HVX-200 does, so if you’re shooting on two ‘500s you won’t have any remotes. If you happen to be using a ‘200 as B-cam then you could roll it with that as you start the A-cam.

I don’t know of any means to press one button and roll both cameras, and you’ve locked TC already… I’d think that’s about the best you can do.

I meant this sort of remote:

or hire a PA to run the other camera. Surely you can find someone who knows how to press a button for $50 or even a fifth of whiskey? These are tough times…

    Thanks for the help guys.

I think I am just going to position myself in between the 2 cameras. That way I can hit the record button on the lens for the left one, and hit the record button on the front of the right cam. Should work without too much waste on Cam B.

Weather has delayed the shoot anyway……. Now maybe I can find someone to help me out for some whiskey. I have some really good stuff! HAHA
