I need to quote a DIT rate for the HVX200. I have a powerbook G4 and FCP5. I don’t know if I show throw out a rate and also the G4 and any drives as a kit rental or should I package everything together.

What would be some rates: upper and lower end? Currently I work in Charlotte, NC and I get 500/day as VTR assist. I also get 500 as boom, if that helps with the rates that are paid in my three state union area. I am IA 491.

    G5, 1.7, 4MB RAM, 30″cine, G4, 1.6 2MB RAM, Mbox, Neumann TLM-103, FCP HD 5. Pro Tools, Adobe Creative Suite, Reason 3.0, Macromedia Studio, ProAnimator, HVX200 with Firestore v4.0

I think 500/day is a bit high for a DIT unless they are bringing a huge cart of gear. More like 300 but then again you only get what you ask for…

    wow
are you getting crews on a street corner? Going rate here in the midwest is over $500 for “just” P2 and real rates when working with RED, SII and Phantom. Gear is extra especially when it involves more than a laptop – what about monitors, scopes, drives etc?

and I believe (it varies) the Union rate for a DIT is $750 a day.

Um yeah actually- I pick them right at Sunset and La Brea- best crews in town. Also at the Home Depot.

$750/10 is regular rate for DIT in NYC. I am sure there are variations but rate for professional is not $300 🙂

$750 is a good rate for DIT and is comparable to the Local 600 rates. But what do you need a DIT for the HVX200? DIT’s (Video Engineers) are usually required for higher end cameras like Genesis, F950, Viper…etc.

There are not enough control in the HVX200 that would justify a DIT.

I’d think a DIT for an HVX200 would be a data wrangler.

That’s Fair. What would be a good rate to charge as a data wrangler. With or without G4 and hard drives.I am not going to do this on a PA rate and PA’s get 200/day in this market. NC/SC/VA/GA

    Thanks for the help.
