Audio sync lost after logging
The weirdest thing, when i log and transfer the audio and video sync up perfectly. Then when i log it the audio losses sync. Any ideas? The footage is coming from P2 cards dumped directly to the harddrive, and the footage was shot 720p30. I used easy set up in fcp for the codec. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Log and transfer works, but just logging doesn’t?

So i initiate log and transfer, then i add a card to the que (i just dumped the footage from the cards to my harddrive, so i dont .mov’s i have folders named Card_01, Card_02 ext., open that up it has a “Contents” folder and “LASTCLIP.TXT). All my clips show up and i can scrub thru them, play them and they play fine. Video audio syncs up.
When i have named a clip i add it to the que.
When the clip becomes an actual digital file the audio losses sync with the video.
So im really confused as to why it would lose sync like that and how do i fix it

Are the files in sync if you play them in Quicktime and not FCP?
Go to your capture scratch and look at the .movs and open one up.

Nope, when i open up the .mov in quicktime the audio is still out of sync, and iv also tried to re-log the clips and its still out of sync

What format and frame rate? Is the footage playing slowly?

its the DVCPro 720p30, 960×720. Either the video is sped up or the audio is slowed down

I am having this exact problem. I regularly log and transfer P2 material into my final cut projects and have never had a problem. This time when I used log ad transfer the quicktime files in my scratch as well as the clips in my timeline are out of sync. I am using an older hard drive to pull the video from and I am suspecting that the transfer rate of the hard drive is too slow or something. Let me know if you have figured out how to correct this problem.
