  • Mounting bracket for P2 Gear?

Posted by Chris Cardno on December 1, 2008 at 4:15 pm

With the upcoming release of the HD-SDI P2 Gear I was wondering if there was a way to mount the P2 Gear on the back of the camera, allowing for hand-held work? I’ve been told there is but can’t find mention of one anywhere and Google’s not shining any light for me.

    Thanks in advance,

I would imagine you could easily rig something up using Zacuto’s gear- they have a nice modular system that lets you mount just about anything to a camera:

At the HD Expo they mentioned a bracket, I didn’t get the impression they were talking about a self-customized rig. Do you know if the P2 Gear has a way to screw a mount into it or would this be accomplished through the wonders of velcro and bungee cords?

Maybe Jan will chime in on that. For me it looks a little big to go on the back of the camera itself but to each his/her own.

There is a bracket and currently with the P2 Gear we handle the requests as the cameras are purchased with the P2 gear. As the P2 Portable becomes avaiable in February, we are expecting more of a demand and are working on a commercially availbable product with a model number and a price tag.

So yes there is something that works today with the P2 Gear and there will be something for the P2 portable.

    Best,
